Panther Island Pavilion (PIP), weather permitting, always has something fun planned. From concerts to festivals, PIP hosts a lot of live shows from its waterfront stage. From July 1 through August 5, Rockin’ The River concert series is held at PIP. During the summer, visitors can chill on the river, enjoy grub from food trucks, and even take outdoor yoga classes. The sand beach provides a space to lounge and have public access to Trinity River, perfect for spending the day swimming, paddling, tubing, and fishing.

Just northeast of PIP is the Coyote Drive-In Theater and Canteen, where family and friends can gather for a double feature underneath the stars. Movie-goers can come by automobile or bicycle – there are standalone speakers or cars can stream audio through FM radios. If you forget to bring snacks, the Coyote Canteen serves popcorn, pizza, hotdogs, etc.  This drive-in offers a unique movie viewing experience for an unbeatable value. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children and includes two feature films.

There are many trails to walk, run, hike, and bike along the Trinity River. The Trinity Forest Trails is a 9-mile hike and bike loop located within the Great Trinity Forest. If you’re in need of an easier route, try the leisurely one-mile long Texas Buckeye Trail, which is lined with beautiful buckeye trees. You’ll get to see a variety of landscaping and vegetation along the Trinity Skyline Trail. Stretching 4.6 miles long into the Dallas Floodway, it features 30-foot levees and fields of wildflowers.
